Position Summary

The Senior Site Superintendent is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of their assigned project site(s), with a focus on single-family or row town structures. This role applies broad-based knowledge of residential construction and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) principles within Alliston’s process framework, ensuring the achievement of critical Customer Satisfaction and Build efficiency metrics (KPIs). The Senior Site Superintendent provides direct leadership and support for all downstream Alliston employees and external trade partners, ensuring that all safety, scheduled tasks, and quality processes are executed on time and achieve their desired outcomes. Additionally, the Senior Site Superintendent serves as the escalation point for other area Superintendents regarding technical, safety, customer care, scheduling, or trade accountability situations, coordinating with the Construction Manager and Peer Superintendents to resolve issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Provide direct leadership and support to Peer Superintendents, downstream employees and trade partners, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Escalation Management: Act as the escalation point for other Peer Superintendents for technical, safety, customer care, scheduling or trade accountability situations, working closely with the Construction Manager and Peer Superintendents to resolve issues.
  • Communication: Clear & timely communication regarding assigned responsibilities. Reporting of construction progress, unusual, or unsafe conditions on job sites, report of unusual, critical or otherwise significant deficiencies, reporting of missed schedule events, or of any significant trade concerns, and communications with external clients, trades and consultants as required. Invoice approval weekly, safety reporting daily.
  • Project Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion of all construction activities. Liaises with Peer Superintendents on schedule development and administration in Peer communities.
  • Safety & Access: Oversee the implementation of Alliston’s Safety program, promote a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with OH&S Act, Regulation and Code.
  • Construction Operations: Coordinate and direct construction operations at assigned worksite through effective planning, scheduling, and communications with external partners. Manage materials in assigned community, deliveries, storage and returns. Manage seasonal work in assigned communities. Provide support and accountability for same in Peer Superintendent communities.
  • Quality Assurance: Coordinate and direct Alliston specific quality process tasks. Ensure homes are safe and stage-complete ready for pre-scheduled Client review; Conduct vital inspections and quality processes throughout the Alliston Build process, ensuring all units are safe and ready for trades. Ensure QA program is active and functional in Peer communities.
  • Coverage & Support: Provide site coverage for Peer Superintendents and direct reports in their absence and support general Alliston construction or customer care operations (post-occupancy service) as required by the Construction Manager.
  • Customer Care: Support Alliston Customer Care Operations as directed by Construction Manager. Participate in emergency on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service.
Experience and Requirements
  • Extensive experience in residential construction, particularly with single-family and row town structures.
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S principles and safety program implementation.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and support a diverse team in the Residential Construction sector.
  • Excellent project scheduling and logistics management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • ASCA Training considered an asset.
  • Current First Aid.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School education
  • Fluent English speaker, written and oral
  • Basic to intermediate computer literacy; proficient in Outlook, functional in MS Word and MS Excel.
